However, the university provides exemption of programme fee to the learners belonging to SC/ST category.The exemption in programme fee is provided by the university as per its latest policies.
Important Note: It should be noted that fee exemption is only related to programme fee mentioned in the prospectus.There is no exemption in late fee (if any), term-end-exam fee, re-admission fee, convocation fee etc.
The IGNOU programme fee exemption policies are defined by the university for every admission cycle. The policies which has been implemented in present session may change in next session. So, the learners who falls under SC/ST category must read out these policies carefully before applying for admission.
In every session, the notification is published by the university regarding IGNOU Fee Refund for SC / ST students or we can say IGNOU programme fee exemption for SC/ST students. The applicants are advised to read the latest notification carefully before applying for admission.
Here is the list of programmes for which SC/ST students can take benefit:
If the learners are not able to understand the policies mentioned in the latest notification, they should visit the nearest IGNOU regional centres and get counselling from the counselors appointed there.
It is clearly mentioned in the programme fee exemption policies that the SC and ST students who are employed are not eligible for fee exemption under SCSP/TSP scheme.
Also, the SC/ST student availing any kind of fellowship or fee exemption from other agencies are not eligible for fee exemption as well.
Below, we have provided the IGNOU programme fee exemption conditions for students belonging to SC/ST categories seeking fresh admission in July 2020 admission cycle.These are as follows:
a) The students will be able to take admission fee exemption benefit for only those programme which are mentioned under Annexure in the Notification (IG/IGNOU/PDD/SCSP-TSP/2019, Dated: June 20, 2020).
b) There are few modular certificate / Diploma programmes which are part of degree prorame. The programme exemption fee scheme is not applicable for those programmes.
c) As we have already mentioned above in article, This scheme is not for the employed SC/ST applicants.
d) Also, the learners who are already availing he benefits exemption/ reimbursement of fee from any other source/agency are not eligible for this scheme.
e) If the applicant is applying for admission in two programmes simultaneously (like one Certificate and one graduate), he shall be eligible for fee exemption only in one programme.
f) Beneficiary of this scheme have to give undertaking that he/she candidate is not getting any benefits of this nature from any other agencies/ sources during the period of study. This undertaking has to be taken along with online applications.
g) The SC and ST students who wish to avail the programme fee exemption scheme have to submit their application in online mode along with softcopy of documents required for the claim. SRD will certify the claim certificate in online mode.
