The Indira Gandhi National Open University offers IGNOU BSWG Admission 2024 in both January as well as July academic cycles. The admission for January 2024 has been started now.
It’s a Bachelor Degree programme in Social Work which has been mainly designed for those candidates who are interested in providing professional assistance to people in need.
The university has revised the Bachelor of Social Work programme syllabus and also changed the programme code from BSW to BSWG.

This Bachelor of Social Work degree programme has been designed and developed by Indira Gandhi National Open University School of Social Work for those students or people who wish to become professionals in providing assistance to people in need or who require some genuine help.
Persons with professional training/ degree in Social Work generally work in socially-relevant areas such as health care, community development, education, industry, counselling, family, correction, social defense, women, children, disability etc.
The university offers admission to IGNOU Bachelor of Social Work programme to those students who have passed out 10+2 or its equivalent examination.
IGNOU BSWG programme has been divided to six semesters with 22 credits in each semester. The total number of credits to complete this programme is 132 credits.

Eligibility Criteria
The candidate taking admission to IGNOU Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) honours programme should be 10+2 or its equivalent.
Medium of Instruction
The BSW programme in IGNOU is offered in English / Hindi medium. The students will receive the printed course material and assignments in English / Hindi medium as per their chosen medium of instruction at the time of admission.
Duration of Programme
For BSW students, they have the flexibility to pass out programme in minimum duration of 3 years and maximum course duration of 6 years.
Programme Fee
The total programme fee of BSW is Rs.17700/-. The fee has to be paid year wise @Rs.5900/- per year.
In the first year, student may have to pay registration fee of 300/- also along with admission fee.

Now, the students can directly visit the university official website to apply for IGNOU BSWG admission Online. The learners can download the Student Handbook & Prospectus from the official website.
Before applying for admission, we advise students to read out IGNOU prospectus carefully and know about the programme you are going to apply for. They have to register themselves on IGNOU Online admission portal before filling up the application form.
