Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) allows students to submit their assignments after the due date, but with certain conditions and consequences.
As per the IGNOU guidelines, the last date to submit the assignments for any particular semester or year is usually mentioned in the official website or IGNOU assignment question paper booklet provided to the students. In case a student fails to submit the assignments on or before the due date, they can still submit the assignments within one week after the due date only if the study centre accept it.
The IGNOU study centres provides some relaxation to students at local level after knowing the problems faced by the student in submitting the assignment on time.
Usually, the university extend dates for 30 days to 45 days for assignment submission if they come to know that students are facing certain issues in assignment submissions e.g. assignment question paper not available, lack of study material, etc.
If the student fails to submit the assignments even within the extended period, they may submit the assignments in the next session without interrupting their studies.
It is important to note that the university do not charge any fees to students for assignment submission. If the last date is over, still there is no late fee for IGNOU assignment submission.
Not submitting the assignments on time may lead to a delay in the completion of the program.
Therefore, it is recommended to submit the assignments on or before the due date to avoid any inconvenience.
